Is It Possible To Directly Transfer Pics From Camera To Samsung Galaxy? If So, How?

Q: Planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy tablet for my mom’s birthday and I need to know if I can directly update pictures to it from a camera.. and how, please~

A. No, you can’t transfer files directly by connecting your camera to the Galaxy Tab. But there are other ways you can transfer files to it. Such as…

I think there are two different Galaxy Tabs available (7" and 10.1"). From looking at information/User Manuals, the 7" Tab appears to have better connectivity.

You can connect it directly to your computer (it will be seen as a removable disk) which allows you to transfer files to it.

You can also insert an SD memory card directly in the Tab in order to transfer files to it (because it has an SD card slot). So, all you need to do is take the memory card out of your camera, insert it in the Tab and transfer files to it…or transfer whatever files you want over to any SD/SDHC memory card (by connecting it and a USB card reader to your computer) then insert the card in the Tab to transfer the files to it.

However, the 10.1" Tab doesn’t appear to have an SD card slot, meaning the only easy way to transfer files to it would be by connecting it to your computer and then transferring your files over to it.

You can download the User Manuals for each Tab from Samsung’s website…but I recommend you ask questions (from the salesperson) when buying it, just to make sure of it’s connectivity.

How to transfer pictures from my phone to my sd card?
Q: I assumed my pictures were being saved on my sd card, but they weren’t… so how do I tranfer them from my phone’s memory to my sd card in my phone? I have a samsung galaxy sII epic 4g touch (or whatever it’s called lol). Thank you!

A. Here are some instructions:

By default the camera on the Samsung Epic Touch 4G is set to automatically save pictures to the internal memory. This presents a problem if the phone ever needs to be hard reset or exchanged for another phone.

The easiest way to move or copy files is to use the built-in file manager called My Files. You can find My Files in the list of applications on the phone.

Tap on My Files to open the application. A list of folders is displayed.
To copy all pictures and video’s, tap and hold on the folder DCIM.
Select copy from the popup list.
From the list of folders, tap External_sd
Tap copy. The folder will now be copied to the removable memory card.

This is the quick version. For individual file transfer locate the file first then tap and hold on the specific file and choose copy from the popup screen. Navigate to the destination folder and copy. Repeat for more files or copy the entire folder.

If you have more questions, there’s a helpful forum at the RadioShack Mobile Support website. The link is below.

The owner’s manual that Sprint provides may also be off some help.
